Yep, I had it for about a week or so and what started as a quite vibrator, turned into an annoying, rattling, clunker. The best time to judge a company is how they handle problems and difficulties. So I contacted the folks at B3 and they got a new out to me right away. I’m happy to report that my 2nd Onye, that I’ve had for 2 years now, has turned out to be a good vibrator. So the folks at B3 are good people in my book. But now onto the next in the discreet vibrator category: The Onye.
The Onye is really sexy; all slick and black. It’s small enough to fit into an evening purse and doesn’t look like a sex toy. I’m betting if anyone saw it, they’d have no idea what it is and I appreciate the designers for that.
Its discreet appearance doesn’t take away from the pleasure it gives. It’s long enough for me to hold long-ways against my entire vulva, receiving pleasurable vibrations against my lips and clit. Plus, it’s long enough to insert for internal vibrations as well. Although, it’s not long enough to hit your g-spot or any great depth of your vagina; but let’s face it ladies, unless your sweet spots are being hit, the most sensitive part of your vagina is the vulva, the opening and that initial internal area. That’s where things are the tightest and this vibe offers just enough thickness for you to feel something pleasurable. So it’s a multi-purpose vibrator, which gets brownie points in my book. Only being able to use a vibe, 1 way, can be annoying. I understand we women like a little variety in our toys and the more money you spend, the more it’s worth the price if you have a bit of variety.
If you like power it’s got it on the highest setting, powerful enough to feel through clothes! I’ve been buzzed through a pair of jeans and I’ve buzzed other ladies through their clothes and they’ve been impressed with the power, which helps to heat things up while you’re out and about and have to keep your clothes on. If you have a more sensitive clit, don’t worry, the low speeds are much more gentle and even the pulsate and escalate programs have a slower speed which aren’t as intense.
It’s well designed in that it’s a plastic toy which can get slippery while using, especially if you’re incorporating lube, however, the fine folks at Big Teaze Toys have added a textured silicone ring around the upper half, making it easier to hold on to while using.
While the Onye is easy to operate with 1 button located at the top, you need to remember where all the settings are. For the most part, there’s a low, medium and high speed for the constant vibrations, which is where you start. Each time you press the button the speed increases, after the 3rd speed or high speed, you then switch programs and now the 4th is a slow escalation that builds in both speed and intensity; the 5th program is a strong but consistent pulse; while the 6th is a fast pulse, the 7th kicks things up by starting out with four quick pulses and a smoother longer last pulse; and the final program, the 8th, is the fastest strongest, most consistent pulse. And if you press it one more time, you turn it off. You can turn also it off at any time by holding down the button for 2 seconds.
Unlike other vibes, the downfall is that the smooth, constant vibes are programmed in the beginning and there’s no way to quickly get back to them once you’ve moved on to the other programs without scrolling through all the programs or turning the vibrator off and starting again. This irritates me, because while I sometimes enjoy those other programs to get me worked up, when I get close to orgasm, I need those consistent vibrations to bring me over the edge. Without a quick way back to that, my orgasm can be interrupted.
If you’re really self conscious about using a vibrator, adding some ambient noise in the background like the TV or music, will be helpful if you don’t want anyone to hear it. However, it is also quiet enough so you don’t feel like you’re using a power tool to get off. I’ve used this on other ladies in bars, restaurants and clubs and no one had any idea.
There’s a black case for the black vibe, white case for the white vibe, each with pretty satin covered foam on the inside. The case is really pretty and discreet, so you should be able to keep it on your nightstand without it causing too much curiosity from other people you live with or guests. There’s a B3 logo on the top, but it’s not gaudy so still nobody will know unless they’re already familiar with the company.
The Onye is made of non-porous ABS, Stainless Steel and Silicone so you can spray some toy cleaner on it and wipe clean. It’s splash proof, so while you can’t run it under water, you can wipe it down with a warm soapy washcloth and wipe dry. I’ve also used baby wipes with success.
Even though I have an issue with the features of the Onye, I can’t in good conscience say it’s a bad vibrator. The Onye has too many other positive features and benefits that out way my personal program order preference. It’s a slick, beautiful and discreet looking toy that offers women a variety of uses, internal or external, a variety of sensations with a good range of power that’s easy to operate and please even the most sensitive. With all the vibes I’ve had to test, I’ve used this one many times with pleasurable results. It’s powerful enough to get me off during masturbation and partner play. However, if you’re not a fan of the overly powerful vibes, the Onye has some sweet, softer, calmer settings. While not totally silent, it is one of the more quiet sounding vibes. Included in the package is a well made, discreet storage case allowing you to keep your vibe out and available at all times without anyone knowing. It’s also discreet enough to carry on a night out to get fun and flirty with the ladies. Most importantly, I’ve had this vibrator for about 2 years now. I take it with me many times when I go out, so it’s been on the road and it doesn’t show any signs of wear and tear. That’s a quality vibrator to me!
