OhMiBod Freestyle
Just the idea of the OhMiBod Freestyle Vibrator tickled my inner sex toy geek.
I’m always on the lookout for toys that offer up something different and am so glad to be able to present it to you all when I find it. So when the folks at Babeland sent me the OhMiBod Freestyle, a vibrator that delivers pleasurable vibrations from my favorite music, I was super excited. That’s really different!
It comes with a lot of stuff
The Freestyle vibrator has some extras that you need to have to be able to enjoy your vibrator. First, the vibrator is included, the recharging cord, a 12” AUX input connector, 2.4 GHz wireless transmitter, a storage case and 4 electrical adaptors ( 1-USA/CA/JP, 1-EU, 1-UK, 1-AU/NZ). It has a 1 year warranty from date of original purchase.
Storage Case
It’s a great case that fits the vibrator and wireless transmitter so they’re always handy together. It’s unfortunately not as discreet as I would have liked it to be with the name OhMiBod written in large, yet friendly letters on top. I think of storage cases as discreet holders for our toys. We can keep them handy, yet hidden away if we need to. Plus, having lots of little toy storage cases with varying fonts and logos, becomes a bit of a design issue, they don’t all match. A minor issue, but still an issue.
Freestyle gets an A+++ for Versatility
The freestyle vibrator is versatile in a variety of ways, the first is how you can listen to your music. You can plug the headphones of your Ipod or other mp3 player into the wireless transmitter on one end and your Ipod or other mp3 player into the other end and use it by being buzzed by your music and listening to the music through your headphones.
Or you can also plug your Ipod or other mp3 player into the one end of the transmitter and plug the AUX connector into the other end of the transmitter and then into your speaker system, so you can listen to your music and be buzzed by your music without headphones. The instructions clearly explain how to do everything and even have illustrations.
Wireless Transmitter has Impressive Range
Hubby and I plugged our Ipod and the wireless transmitter into our computer and used the robust sound system that would play into our bedroom. The computer, where the wireless transmitter is located at this point, is down the hall from our bedroom and the Freestyle has no trouble picking up the signal and vibing to the music.
When Hubby and I have playmates over, we still plug our Ipod and wireless transmitter into our computer, but using our WiFi, we play the music through our TIVO and sound system downstairs. Even downstairs the Freestyle still picks up the signal with no problem and vibes perfectly to the music. Hubby and I are both tech geeks and we are still VERY impressed with the range.
Back to A+++ Versatility
So you can listen to the music in a variety of ways. You also have the choice of using the Freestyle with music or without. If you decide to use the vibrator without music, there are 7 pre-programmed vibration patterns: Low, Med, High Constant Vibration, Surge, Escalate, Roller Coaster and Pulse. So you have choices!
While I enjoy playing around with the novelty of using the music, the Freestyle will not bring me to orgasm that way. In order to reach orgasm, I have to turn it on the manual setting and use the high vibration setting, which is fine because it’s easy to switch from music mode to manual mode, even in the middle of sex.
Even more versatility
The Freestyle Vibrator can be used internally or externally. It doesn’t have any curves to it, so you won’t get direct g-spot stimulation from it, but you can play with penetration and receive some unique and pleasurable internal vibrations.
My favorite is to use it externally by holding it long ways against my vulva so it vibrates against my clit, inner lips and taint, which I find DEEEEEE-VINE!
Just holding the very tip against your clit will deliver more intense vibrations because all those lovely vibes are being released within a very small surface area. So lots and lots of choices!
Power?
OhMiBod’s Freestyle vibrator has a good range of vibrations, from very low and subtle to high and intense, so I think those that love some power and those that want more subtlety and gentleness will enjoy this toy. Also, depending on the music that you’re listening to and how sensitive you set the wireless transmitter, will depend on how intense or soft your vibrations are.
Easy to clean
It’s made of body safe ABS which is non-porous, so this baby can be cleaned. Just make sure you don’t get the top with the controls or the charging hole at the top wet. That part is not at all water friendly. Since you can clean this up, with proper care, it should last awhile because it won’t get all stinky and filled with bacteria like other porous vibes will. Since it can be cleaned, feel free to share it you’re your playmates. Although if you’re unsure of someone’s health status, use a condom.
It’s a Fun Naughty Party Vibe
Hubby and I love to play music when have our naughty parties or have playmates over. This vibe is great for that kind of thing. It’s novel to bring out and we can all vibe each other to the music that’s playing. It becomes kind of like a game, which song will bring you or your playmates close to or completely to orgasm.
Soft
Even though it’s made out of ABS which is essentially plastic, the vibrator has a soft and silky feel to it, making it comfortable to use against your delicate vulva skin. It also warms up to body temperature pretty quickly.
So what about the music?
You’ll need to take some time to get to know what music the Freestyle responds best to and in the way that you want it to. Contrary to what we initially assumed, the Freestyle does not vibrate to the beat of the music. It vibrates to the loudness of the songs, not the volume, the highs and lows in the song. So putting together a playlist of your top songs, may not deliver the vibrations you want. So you’ll need to give it some time in the beginning. Once you get the hang of it, each new playlist after that should be a piece of cake.

Charging takes only a couple of hours from dead to fully powered again. The charge lasts quite a while too.
Overall Thoughts
OhMiBod has come out with a wonderfully unique and technologically advanced vibrator. It comes with everything you need to get started using it, as soon as it’s fully charged. It offers a variety of ways to use it. Use your headphones for a more internal personal experience. Use it with your stereo system for a less personal experience. Vibe yourself or your partner with the music or switch it to manual mode and play with the 7 pre-programmed settings. Use it as an internal or external vibe or both in the same session if you want. It’s easy to clean so it should last you a while and you can share it with a friend. It ranges in power from very soft to rather intense so you can get those strong vibes if you want and need them or avoid them altogether if you don’t fancy them. The only thing you need to do is learn how the Freestyle responds to your music and find the music that you enjoy and gives you the kinds of vibration experience you’re looking for. There’s lots of music out there and discovering all those songs that work well can be half the fun. It’s fun. It’s pleasurable and it’s absolutely fascinating to me, making it a great toy to have at my disposal.
