What's the hype?

Initial Thoughts
I've tried only one other toy from Fun Factory before and did not have a very good experience with it (see LayaSpot review) so I was hoping that I wouldn't encounter another bad experience.
What I Like
It's big, it's black, it looks like penis and to me, it looks like a whole lotta fun. I think the controls at the bottom are partially why it has a playful appearance to it. It's well designed, visually.
My favorite part is its thick girth. The head is a bit thicker than the shaft and then the bottom quarter of the shaft is almost as thick as the head. So you feel the thick head upon initial insertion, Yay! and then once you've got it all the way in, that thicker end part of the dildo is still fulfilling your vaginal opening and you can feel the vibrations nicely. Once I really looked it over, I realized it's a really good design. I've tried lots of dildos that just don't have any girth, either that or they have a thick head and the rest is nothing, but The Boss really left me feeling totally fulfilled which was awesome.
Vibrations on the high setting are a pretty good strength. They're not the strongest I've experienced from a battery operated vibe, but they're also not unenjoyable. I think some of the intensity is subdued by the heavy silicone material. However, I do feel that the vibrations traveled well through the entire unit. So I didn't just feel the vibes strongly in one area, I felt the vibes strongly and at the same intensity at different points of the shaft. If you are one of those ladies that do not desire intense vibrations from a vibe, then this is a good one for you.
It's amazingly quiet. You do hear a bit of a motor, but there's no annoying rattling sound and the little sound you hear is subdued even further when you penetrate yourself with it. For example, my couch and my chair in my living room are about 4' apart, not far at all. When my husband was holding the vibe in his hand on its highest setting, I couldn't hear it in the chair, making it very discreet.
I loved the fact that it has one program of continuous vibrations and not a whole lot of wacky, pulsing and escalating settings. I'm not a fan of all that fancy stuff, I love the classic vibrations. You can control the intensity with an easy spin controller on the bottom of the unit. You can control the vibrations by spinning it both ways, something I found unique and positive.
The shaft is made of 100% silicone, which is safer for our bodies because it can be completely cleaned and disinfected. You can use a warm, soapy cloth on the shaft and controller. I cleaned mine by holding only the shaft part, not the battery compartment, in boiling water which is even better. Then I wiped the bottom clean with a baby wipe.
It's easy to use during play, very straightforward. Use it for penetration pleasure which it is divine for or hold it outside for direct clitoral stimulation or do a little bit of both. Just make sure you use a water-based lube and it's lubed up real good for smooth penetration.
It comes with full instructions on how to use it, clean it and store it. The instructions are in English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian and either Chinese or Japanese (I couldn't tell since I can't read either language).
It's a larger vibe with a good curve on it, so there were some pleasant moments of g-spot stimulation during use. However, I always find it difficult, even with a vibe to stimulate my g-spot and no 2 bodies are made alike so the g-spot tip may work for you and it may not. When it did for me, I enjoyed it. Either way, it's a great dildo.
Annoying Part
The battery compartment in the beginning seemed impossible to open. The Boss is a toy that you can use in the shower. It's splash proof, so it's important that the battery compartment be well sealed so it doesn't get damaged in the water. However, it took me a while to get the hang of it and that was really annoying. Just make sure you pull on the very bottom part of the vibe and it will almost pop out on its own.
Storage Tip
The silicone material can attract a lot of fuzz and dust when lying around. Either keep it in its original box or keep it wrapped in a white, man's handkerchief so it's always ready to use.
Overall Thoughts
I'm very relieved to report that my 2nd experience with a Fun Factory toy was a very positive one. Yes, it had one major downfall, the battery compartment is very tricky, but make sure you pull on the very bottom part of the vibe. Other than that, The Boss is a great toy. It's a fun looking vibrating dildo. It's nice, thick girth that gave me a delicious feeling of total fulfillment, while the vibrations traveled smoothly and consistently throughout the vibrator. It's quiet motor allows it to be used in close quarters and by those that are turned off by noisy rattling vibrators. Being made of silicone, The Boss is a safe toy to use, it can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. It's splash proof, so you can enjoy it in the shower. It's got my favorite, classic constant vibrations that can be set to an intensity that you enjoy and it comes with full instructions in various languages.
I used this toy on my own, with my husband and even had the opportunity to use it on a lady friend and all enjoyed it very much as well. My lady friend is a lady of few words but when I asked her the next morning if she liked it, she gave me a very enthusiastic yes, with a bit of a naughty giggle to follow. That's a damn good vibe in my book. So if you're looking for a nice, girthy dildo with added smooth consistent and quiet vibrations made of a safe material to put in your body, then The Boss will be a good sex toy for you.
